Automotive and related manufacturers are poised to benefit from an exploding renewable Energy market in South Africa, thanks to revolutionary legislation that has opened the market for the first time.

Manufacturers can generate their own power, but more lucrative is the possibility for diversification into Renewable Energy components – considered a natural progression for hard-pressed automotive manufacturers, operating in a dynamic global environment.

At the end of 2009 over US $155 billion was invested in renewable energy companies and projects worldwide, not including large hydro – a 400% increase in four years, with South Africa only at the very beginning of new growth.

In order to unpack the specific opportunities presented by the Renewable Energy sector and to deliberate around its implications for the auto industry, Inkanyezi in collaboration with NAACAM, the Eastern Cape Energy Forum and the industry’s key energy roleplayers will host the first conference dedicated to this hot topic – specifically for an exclusive automotive related audience.

The Conference is hosted at the ICC in East London on August 25, 2011 as part of the South African Automotive Week brand.  The Conference is part of the Amandla Endalo (Power of Nature) Renewable Energy Initiative, which includes an international Trade Show, match-making programme, conferences and networking functions.

Amandla Endalo draws key policy makers and Renewable Energy stakeholders and it exposes  automotive companies to the impending massive opportunity of this sector – which is currently clearly not core business, but will certainly constitute and significant part of every company’s future operations.
